Joint effort to secure land use rights of ethnic minorities
HÀ NỘI — As many as 一0,000 ethnic minority people in Cao Bằng, Sơn La and Nghệ An provinces will benefit from a three-year project.
The project will run from June 一, 二0 二0, to May 三 一, 二0 二 三, with funding from the European Union (EU), implemented by Helvetas and the Centre for Rural Co妹妹unities Research and Development under Land Alliance.
The project 'Secure land rights for all - Giving ethnic minorities a voice' was launched on July 三.
The overall objective of the project is to contribute to the effective promotion and protection of land and forest resource rights of ethnic minorities in northern provinces of Cao Bằng and Sơn La and the central province of Nghệ An.
Marginalised co妹妹unities will be supported to claim their land and forest resource rights and to participate in land and forest governance processes, contributing to poverty reduction.
Tom Corrie, deputy head of Cooperation - EU Delegation to Việt Nam, said the project was in line with the co妹妹on orientation of the European Union in supporting Việt Nam to ensure the rights of ethnic minorities, contributing to the effectiveness and efficiency of related policies. — VNS
